Dr. Hammad Rafay, Medical Director
Dr. Hammad Rafay (Medical Director) is an Adult Respirologist and Sleep Medicine Physician. He completed his Master's in Biomedical sciences and medical school at the Chicago Medical School in Illinois, USA. He returned to Canada for internal medicine residency at Western University. He then completed his Respirology fellowship and sleep medicine training at McMaster University. Dr. Rafay is a Diplomate of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Sleep Medicine. He is skilled in the management of patients with sleep disordered breathing, disorders of central hypersomnolence, circadian rhythm disorders, and sleep-related movement disorders.
Dr. Kevan Mehta- MA, MB, BChir, and FRCP(C) - Pediatric Sleep Specialist
Dr. Kevan Mehta is a Pediatric Respirologist and Sleep Medicine Physician. He completed his medical school at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, before returning to Canada for his General Pediatrics residency at Sick Kids Hospital. After his residency, he went on to pursue a Pediatric Respirology fellowship and then a Sleep Medicine fellowship after this, both at Sick Kids Hospital. Dr. Mehta currently works as a sleep medicine physician at both the Etobicoke Brampton Sleep Clinic and McMasters Hospital.
Dr. Carin Dove-MD, FRCPC
Dr. Carin Dove, MD, FRCPC completed her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, her medical school training, and her adult neurology residency at McMaster University. She trained in Sleep Medicine under Dr. Raymond Gottschalk at the well-respected Sleep Disorders Clinic in Hamilton ON. As a CPSO recognized specialist in sleep medicine, she is skilled in the management of the full range of sleep disorders presenting in adolescents and adults. She maintains Fellowship status with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in the specialty of neurology.
Dr. Harneet Singh - M.D., D.ABPN, D.ABSM
Dr. Harneet Singh completed his medicine degree at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He completed a Neurology residency and Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He is presently pursuing a Movement Disorders and Neurophysiology Fellowship at University of Toronto (Toronto Western). He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and board certified in Neurology (U.S.A.). He is a CPSO recognized specialist in both Neurology and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Rahul Verma, MD, FRCPC - Pediatric Sleep Specialist
Dr. Rahul Verma, MD, FRCPC Verma is a Pediatric Respirologist & Sleep Medicine physician. He attended medical school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. He then completed a Pediatrics residency at the London Health Sciences Centre (Western University). Subsequently, he completed fellowships in both Pediatric Respirology and Pediatric Sleep Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children (University of Toronto).
Dr. Verma also currently holds a staff appointment in the Division of Respiratory Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Verma’s research interests are in sleep disorders affecting children. Outside of work, he enjoys playing sports, travelling, and spending time with his wife and young family.
Dr. Arina Bingeliene- MD, FRCPC – Pediatric and Adult Sleep Specialist
Dr. Arina Bingeliene is a Pediatric Neurologist and Sleep Specialist. She has received her medical degree from Riga Stradins University in Latvia. She has completed Adult Neurology residency program, including two years of training in Pediatric Neurology in her alma before moving to Canada. She has extensive experience in Sleep Medicine and looking after the pediatric population. She started her independent practice in Canada in 2022 with focus on sleep medicine.
Dr. Shayan Makvandi, M.D., FAAP, DABSM - Pediatric Sleep Specialist
Dr. Shayan Makvandi, M.D., FAAP, DABSM is a physician specializing in both adult and pediatric sleep medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from York University before obtaining his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas. He completed his pediatric residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by a year of subspecialty training in respirology at New York University and a fellowship in sleep medicine at Wayne State University and John Dingell VA medical center. He remained in New York as a staff physician before returning to Canada to continue his medical practice. He is a CPSO recognized specialist in both adult and pediatric sleep medicine.
Dr. Tarvinder Kukreja- MD, CCFP
Dr. Tarvinder Kukreja completed her MBBS (including 1 year of rotating internship) at GMC, Amritsar, INDIA. Then she continued here for various licenses to practice in Canada and USA such as CCFP (2002), USMLE (2000), LMCC (2000) and UMCAPE (2000). She started her sleep medicine practice in 2005 at Dalhousie University at Nova Scotia and cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic insomnia
Iqbal Singh Dhanju
Technical Director at Etobicoke Brampton Sleep Clinic and Malvern Sleep Clinic
Experienced Technical Director of two very successful sleep clinics in Toronto, Canada with a demonstrated history of working in the field of Sleep Medicine for the last 20 years and also 25 years in the field of computer science with the Ontario Government in Canada. Dr. Iqbal Singh Dhanju has a very unique combination of academic qualifications and skills with Master of Science (MSc) degree in computer science from North Dakota State University (NDSU) USA along with Doctorate Degree (PhD.) in insect physiology (Entomology) Bangalore, India.
The Etobicoke-Brampton Sleep Clinic is offering state of the art technology in a comfortable setting, complemented by our expert assessment and management of sleep disorders. When requested by the referring physician, patients are seen in consultation by one of our sleep specialists. Following a detailed review of the medical history, the results of their sleep study are discussed with the patient and the appropriate management plan/follow-up is initiated.
The Etobicoke-Brampton Sleep Clinic offers the following to our patients:
- Overnight sleep studies are conducted 7 days a week.
- The clinic is using the industry’s highest standard of computerized polysomnographic equipment for conducting overnight sleep studies, MSLT, MWT.
- Prompt appointments and feedback of sleep study results, with test results faxed to the referring physician within 4-weeks.
- Professional, caring staff dedicated to providing a pleasant experience for your patients while ensuring accurate and informative sleep studies.
- A modern and comfortable setting for patients to sleep in. The clinic features spacious bedrooms with double beds, a television in each room, close proximity to washrooms and showers within the clinic. Sleep studies are performed on patients (>4 years old).
- One room is equipped with Bi-level and/or Adaptive Servo ventilation equipment used in patient requiring high CPAP levels, having respiratory failure or congestive heart failure patients with central apneas.
- Our Staff can communicate in English, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Punjabi, Romanian, Polish, Gujrati.
- Most of the technologist are foreign trained physicians and have acquired the BRPT sleep technology certification.
